My name is Cecilia "Cee" Bueno. I love people and the complexity that each person has to offer; however, this complexity, is not something to be fixed. I do not fix people because fixing implies that someone is broken, and I do not believe that people are broken. Our true authentic self may become fragmented, or even cracked by life's struggles, tragedies, losses, and disappointments, yet these are merely the foundation for a truly remarkable life.
Integrative practices coalesce well with the belief that the human organism has innate tendencies to seek wholeness. Wholeness is found when we allow our true selves to be fully known. Embracing an integrative approach to healing, allows me to teach my clients that growth and regeneration are forged as we move towards our struggles with substances, relationships, death, depression, pain and anxiety. In addition, many of us are facing events which result in a feeling of disconnection from people and nature. We are made to connect with others. Our world reflects connection. Herds, packs, communities, pods, congregations, teams, etc. are some examples of our innate need for connection and belonging. Feeling accepted, respected and having the senes that my life matters. As a counselor, I begin the counseling relationship by establishing this sense of connective space where the individual's sense of significance may grow.
